As part of the Halo Battery Recycling service, we also manufacture storage and transportation boxes for the safe and secure movement of hazardous spent Li-ion batteries.
The transport boxes are filled with layers of Lithium Battery Fire Protection Pillows that are designed to reduce the likelihood of a lithium fire occurring during the storage and transportation of lithium batteries.
Through our in-house, industrial scale battery recycling technologies, and lithium fire protection pillows, Halo is prioritising the safety and sustainability of battery recycling practices, to ensure that we are taking a responsible approach to the energy transition.
The fire protection pillows will protect and form an impermeable barrier around the batteries. If any incident of lithium combustion should occur, the pillow will melt, creating an impermeable shell around the fire load, thereby suspending and reducing the likelihood of a reaction with oxygen.
